Soon Tofu Gelato - Experience a special gelato in Gangneung, KOREA

 

Today, we are going to show you a special gelato cafe in Korea. It is located in Gangneung so you should visit here when you are traveling in Gangwondo.

The place is called "Soon Tofu Gelato (순두부 젤라또 in Korean)". You may have tried gelato before but you can experience an unique Korean-style gelato here. 

 

The main menu in this cafeteria is Soon Tofu Gelato. Soon Tofu means soft tofu in Korea and many Koreans enjoy to eat Soft Tofu Soup. Actually, there is a restaurant for Soon Tofu Soup right beside the cafeteria.

 

This area in Gangwondo is called "Chodang (초당 in Korean)" and Chodang is well-known for Soft Tofu. The name of this area is called "Chodang Soon Tofu Town (초당 순두부 마을 in Korean)". A lot of people in Korea and travelers visit Chodang in Gangneung to enjoy a special taste of Soon To Fu soup. 

 

 

You may enjoy Soon Tofu Gelato as a dessert after enjoying the Soon Tofu Soup here. As we mentioned, Soon Tofu Gelato is a main menu here but you can find Injeolmi (Korean traditional rice cake made from the glutinous rice and coated with bean flour) Gelato and Black Sesame Gelato as well.

 

Actually, there were more various kinds of gelato menus here but most of them were sold out when we visited this cafeteria.

You can also find Gangneung Coffee Gelato, Sweet Potato Gelato, Green Tea Gelato, Salted Caramel Gelato, Pistachio Gelato and Nutella Gelato.

 

 

The photos below are Soon Tofu Gelato and Black Sesame Gelato and we liked both of them. You can experience Korean-style Soon Tofu and Black Sesame taste from these gelato menus.
