Ongojae - Such a nice restuarant to enjoy pizza and pasta at traditional Korean-style house
Although there are a lot of various kinds of Korean dish, you may sometimes feel sick of eating Korean food while traveling in Korea. Here is the place to visit when you are sick of Korean cuisine but you can experience traditional Korean-style house called "Hanok (한옥 in Korean)".
The name of this restaurant is Ongojae (온고재 in Korean) and here is very special because you can eat pizza and pasta at Hanok (traditional Korean-style house). It is located at Paldang Namyangju, Gyeonggi province. As you can see in the photos below, the restaurant is surrounded with a traditional Korean-style house but they do not serve Korean food. If you see the menu, there are various kinds of pizza and pasta.
As many people visit here, you may need to wait for a few minutes to be seated. However, as there is a beautiful garden at the restaurant outside, you may walk around and have a look at those beautiful trees and flowers while waiting for the table. There are also several seats in the garden for you to wait to be seated.
There are various kinds of pizza and pasta menu. For the pizza menu, there are Marinara, Margherita, Melanzane e Pomodoro, Diavola, Quattro Formaggi, Funghi and Insalata di Prosciutto. Signature pizza menu are Melanzane e Pomodoro, Quattro Formaggi and Insalata di Prosciutto.
For the pasta menu, there are Aglio e Olio, Gamgeri e Olio, Ragu alla Bolognese, Pasta di ONGOJAE Spezionale, Funghi Crema and Pescatore. Signature pasta menu here are Pasta di ONGOJAE Spezionale and Funghi Crema.
I have tried Quattro Formaggi for the pizza and Pasta di ONGOJAE Spezionale for the pasta. Both of those were great and I highly recommend those two signature menu. However, I assume that other menu would be also awesome as other people in the restaurant were pretty satisfied with their food.
There are a lot of beautiful photo spots both inside and outside the restauant so you may take some photos in the restaurant for your memory in Korea. You may be able to experience a traditional Korean-style house and a garden outside the house. At the same time, you can enjoy a high quality pizza and pasta here.
