Today, we will update "Gyeongpo Lake (경포호 in Korean)" in Gangneung where you can stroll around and feel the natural vibes. 

 

 

The meaning of Gyeongpo Lake is "Clear as mirror". Gyeongpo Lake is located 6 kilometers Northeast from the center of Gangneung city. Gyeongpo Lake is formed as the mouth of a bay closed by sand and pebbles that came from the sea currents.

 

When spring comes in Korea, you can find the cherry blossom trees surrounding the Gyeongpo Lake. During the summer season, you can enjoy the warm weather around the lake and also visit Gyeongpo Beach which is closely located to Gyeongpo Lake. In the autumn season, you can feel the autumn vibes from the fallen leaves around the lake. Even in winter, you may enjoy a snowy lakeside and feel the cold breeze around the lake.

 

 

The lake was originally a large lake (12km-long lake) but it has been reduced to 4 km because of the accumulation of dirt and sand. Gyeongpodae Pavilion, which has been a famous background for a long time of the Gwandong district, is located on the west side of the lake. 

 

If you have a chance to visit Gangneung, Gyeongpo Lake is a must-visit place for travelers and visitors in Gangneung, Gangwondo, Korea.
