It is cherry blossoms season in April and the best spots to see these cherry blossoms are Yeouido Hanriver park and Seokchon lake in Korea. A lot of people visit these attractions to see beautiful cherry blossoms in April but these places will be shut down this year to prevent Coronavirus infections.
As cluster infections are increasing signifcantly, the government decided to cancel the cherry blossoms festival and shut down Yeouido park and Seokchon lake as it is expected that many visitors will come to see cherry blossoms.
The parking lot #1-4 in Yeouido Hanriver park will be temporarily shut down and shut down facilities will be equipped at each entrance on 4th, 5th and 11th of April. The parking lot #5 in Yeouido Hanriver park will be opened for workers in Yeouido St. Mary's hospital. There will be parking lot personnel who will be in charge of managing the cars that are allowed for parking during the weekdays.
Additionally, places near Yeouiseo-ro and 15 entrances of Hanriver park will also be shut down. Shade canopies or tents are not allowed in Hanriver park until 30th of April.
54 entrances of Seokchon lake has also been shut down from 28th of March to 12th of April. Steel fences are located and the security guard is controlling people who visit Seokchon lake. Instead, you are able to see cherry blossoms blooming at Seokchon lake online. You may able to see cherry blossoms via Songpa-gu homepage and facebook, Youtube channels and IPTV.
