Total number of 9,887 Coronavirus cases in South Korea

101 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been reported by Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), bringing total number of 9,887 Coronavirus infection cases in Korea as of Wednesday.

 

The majority of new Coronavirus cases are confirmed as cluster infections especially in medical centers and churches in metropolitan area and some cases of peolple coming abroad to Korea.

 

24 more people are confirmed in Seoul as cluster infections of Manmin Central church and people coming abroad to Korea. 23 new cases are confirmed in Gyeonggi province due to cluster infections that 8 patients in Uijeongbu Saint Mary's hospital are confirmed as Coronavirus infections. 5 people are confirmed in Incheon, bringing the total number of 52 new cases in metropolitan area accounting for half of the total number of new cases.

 

There are 20 new confirmed cases in Daegu from cluster infections in Daesil hospital and Hansarang hospital.

 

Also there are 4 Coronavirus infection cases in Gwangju and South Gyeongsang province, respectively, 3 cases each in Busan and South Chungcheong province, 2 cases in Gangwon and North Gyeongsang province each and 1 case in North Jeolla province.

 

7 people are also confirmed as Coronavirus infections through airport screening quarantine procedures and the total number of people confirmed as Coronavirus through airport quarantine procedures stood at 224 people. 

 

The death toll reached to 165 as 3 more people died from previous day. The fatality rate is 1.67% as of Wedenesday.

 

159 people are released from isolation from full recovery, bringing the total number of 5,567 people who are fully recovered.
