Total number of 9,137 Coronavirus cases in Korea

The total number of 9,137 Coronavirus cases are confirmed in South Korea as of Wednesday, showing 100 new cases from the previous day. 223 more people are fully recovered and released from isolation from previous day, reaching to the total number of 3,730 people who are fully recovered. The death toll rose to 126 with an increase of 6 people died from the Coronavirus infections.

 

82.4 percent of the total infection cases in Korea are related to the cluster infection cases. There are no more cases at the call center in Guro-gu, staying at the total number of 158 infection cases. 97 people from 158 cases are confirmed at the call center building and the rest of 61 people are those who are connected with these 97 people confirmed in the building.

 

From 100 new cases, 51 cases are from the people who came abroad to Korea (29 people from Europe and 13 people from US). The government will implement intensive quarantine procedures for people who are coming abroad from US to South Korea from 27th of March. These measures are due to high increase in Coronavirus cases in US and in confirmed cases of people coming from US to Korea.  

 

The recovery rate from the Coronavirus infections in Korea topped 40 percent as of Wednesday. South Korea's fatality rate stood at 1.38 percent as of Wednesday, which is much lower than the average fatality rate of 4.9 percent announced by World Health Organization (WHO).
