According to Cheong wa dae, US president Donald Trump has requested South Korea president Jae-in Moon to provide a medical device to fight against Covid 19.
The phone call was made at an urgent request by Trump and he asked Moon to provide medical equipment to fight against Coronavirus on Tuesday. Moon replied that he would provide a maximum support if available.
Moon then mentioned about the approval procedure of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Trump replied to make an immediate action to be approved within today. In the phone conversation, Trump said that South Korea is dealing with this Coronavirus very well.
According to Cheong wa dae, Moon also said that $60 billion currency swap between South Korea and US is a very timely measure.
It was the first phone conversation between South Korea and US this year and marked the 23rd phone calls between two countries in total. The phone call was made at 10 p.m. on Tuesday for 23 minutes.
The white house also stated that US president Trump and South Korea president Moon have discussed on their efforts to fight against Coronavirus 19 pandemic.
